Knowledge
Skills
Attitude
Mastering these three areas makes a good and, above all, safe pilot. Each area is infinitively large and can never be mastered perfectly. In our opinion, a conscientious pilot should spend their entire flying career working towards developing their knowledge and skills as well as maintain a safe attitude. Unfortunately, in our experience, many pilots stop training in these areas as they gain experience. Because it is mentally exhausting. Or because you have to leave your comfort zone. Or because you simply believe that the risk of accidents comes from others.
But the accident figures speak for themselves! The majority of accidents in general aviation are attributed to human error.
We are developing a concept and platform that makes it fun to keep learning and motivates helicopter pilots to improve their skills, knowledge and attitude.
Who are we?
Stephan Konz and Marcus Aulfinger are the founders of KSA-Heliteam. Together with Robby Jansch and Thys Pieterse, it is our mission to improve the quality of helicopter pilot training which helps with preventing accidents. In our decades of experience as flight instructors and flight examiners appointed by the german Federal Aviation Authority (Luftfahrt-Bundesamt), we have lost several pilot friends in crashes and spent a lot of time analyzing various accidents. The conclusions we have drawn from our analysis and the experience of thousands of hours of training in Europe and the US show us that human performance and, in particular, attitude make a significant contribution to many accidents. We regularly attend manufacturer courses and discuss ideas and experiences with leading international training organizations and professional associations to help pilots become safer.
We firmly believe that every pilot can and should train according to their level of experience and want to offer the appropriate tools.
